What is Ultherapy?
Ultherapy® is a safe, nonsurgical skin rejuvenation treatment designed to lift loose, saggy skin, reverse sun damage, and diminish visible signs of aging on your face, neck, and décolletage, or upper chest.
Ultherapy uses ultrasound technology, or sound energy, to stimulate collagen renewal, strengthen your skin’s deepest foundational structures, and tone the surrounding muscles.
Its unique properties allow it to penetrate through each layer of skin to reach depths that can’t be matched by any other noninvasive cosmetic technology, including laser therapy.
Ultherapy is widely considered the most effective nonsurgical method for tightening skin and lifting the structures of your face, neck, and décolletage. In fact, it’s the only noninvasive face-lift method cleared by the FDA to actually lift the skin on your brow, face, chin, neck, and chest.
How does Ultherapy work?
Using a highly specialized ultrasound device, the Ultherapy system allows the team at SINY® Dermatology to actually see each layer of skin on an ultrasound imaging screen as they perform the procedure.
The ability to visualize the structure of your skin helps ensure that the skin-renewing energy is directed and deposited exactly where it’s needed most, or where it provides maximal lift.
As the targeted ultrasound energy seeps into the deepest structures of your skin, it creates a microthermal coagulation that gently heats each skin cell from the inside out, stimulating deep collagen growth and renewal.
As your body ramps up its production of deep collagen over the course of the days, weeks, and months following the procedure, your skin becomes tighter and stronger, creating visible lift to help restore a more youthful appearance.
What is the Ultherapy treatment like?
After discussing your cosmetic goals, assessing your skin, and making sure you’re a candidate for Ultherapy, the team at SINY® Dermatology identifies the specific treatment areas that get you the results you want.
The procedure itself requires very little preparation, apart from applying ultrasound gel to the treatment area and getting the imaging screen ready.
Because the ultrasound screen shows exactly where the ultrasound energy goes, it helps facilitate optimal applicator placement throughout the procedure.
As the smooth Ultherapy applicator glides over your skin, you’ll feel tiny pulses of energy being deposited at precise depths, a sign that the collagen-building process is already underway.
The length of your procedure depends on your personal skin-tightening needs and cosmetic goals. A face and neck Ultherapy treatment typically lasts 60 to 90 minutes, while it usually takes about 30 minutes to lift and revitalize the upper chest.
When can I expect to see results?
Many people require only one Ultherapy treatment to get the results they’re after. Men and women with more severe skin laxity may benefit from additional treatments spaced over the course of several weeks.
Because Ultherapy relies on your body’s natural corrective mechanisms and collagen renewal processes to revitalize and lift your skin from the inside out, you can expect your results to emerge over time.
